Pelham Central Fire Station
BERARD MARTEL ARCHITECTURE, INC.
This 17,300 SF substation has a 12 door apparatus facility supported by the Fire Department’s main administrative offices, bunkrooms, living quarters and training areas that meet current facility standards for physical and fire science development of personnel. The shell is a highly insulated concrete form structure with a steel joist/trussed roof. In delivering this high performance envelope, heating and cooling loads are projected to be significantly lower than similar facilities due to the continuous insulation envelope and melding of related systems and assemblies to meet sustainable/low energy design and cost targets. The exterior assembly is low maintenance, New England styled clapboard siding. The station is located on the Town’s Village Green adjacent to other municipal functions (Library, Police Station, and Town Offices) and the Town’s park/green.
